God Bless 50

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, May 31, 2011 @ 1:00 AM | , ,

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a fun weekend and maybe had a chance to enjoy an extra day off from work?! :) I spent a lot of time on some fun and exciting DT projects coming up over the next TWO weeks starting tomorrow, June 1st with the June Waltzingmouse Stamps S.O.A.P. projects. Back to work for me today but I do have a card to share.

If you have visited me before, you know how much I LOVE all those gorgeous Melissa Frances products. Well TODAY, one of my projects is being featured on THE Melissa Frances Blog!!! Pinch me PLEASE!!! I would be tickled pink if you would be so kind to pop on over there (click HERE) and see it for yourself :)

I made this card for my sweet niece, JennyLee, who is currently going through some tough times.
I combined various gorgeous Melissa Frances patterned paper from both the Attic Treasures and 5th Avenue Collections. I broke out a darling Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage image and stamped a pre-made tag with a beautiful sentiment from JustRite Stampers Faith Set.
Thanks so much for visiting ~ hope you have a great day! I'll be back tomorrow with some Waltzingmouse goodness to share :) Be Sweet!

Happy Memorial Day 41

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, May 29, 2011 @ 9:53 PM | , ,

Happy Memorial Day to all who celebrate! I hope you are all having a safe and fun weekend! Not a whole lot going on in my neck of the woods, just hanging around town and having fun at home :) We are leaving for a summer vacation in the near future, so I've been a busy bee stamping away ~ working on some fun DT projects!

I took a wee break and made this Thank You card for my brother who served active duty for 20 years in the United States Navy ~ 6 of those were spent in Operation Desert Storm. Thanks to all the men and women who have served and are currently serving in the United States military :)
I started with a beautiful piece of  Melissa Frances patterned paper then added several die cut stars made using Spellbinders Stars Five die templates. I added a coating of glittery to each for a fun sugary like appearance. To create the sentiment label, I stamped the Heartfelt Thanks sentiment from JustRite Stampers JB-09807 Just Because Mini Sentiments using a JustRite Stampers JB-08955 Nested Sentiment Die template to cut/emboss the image. The JustRite CUSTOM die templates are made for JustRite by Spellbinders™ so they too have the UNIQUE window that allows you to see EXACTLY where you are cutting and enables you to stencil if you wish.
For sketch inspiration, I played along with this week's Stampin' Royalty Challenge #73. If you are looking for some awesome inspiration, be sure to see what the DT created!
Thanks so much for looking! Be Sweet!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: JustRite Stampers JB-09807 Just Because Mini Sentiments
Die Templates & Machine: JustRite Stampers JB-08955 Nested Sentiment Dies, Spellbinders™ Nestabilities® Stars Five, Grand Calibur

Happy Anniversary...WMSC49 55

Mona Pendleton | @ 12:28 AM | ,

Hi there! Hope you are all having a great weekend so far! Not much going on around my house, just a lot of exercising and stamping all weekend! What more could an addicted workout / crafty kind of girl want? :) If you have some stamping time, perhaps you would like to play along with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge? My Wedding Anniversary is right around the corner, so I thought I would use this week's fab sketch to make a card for my sweet hubby Scott :)
Have to get quite inky to play along with this one! I created my own background paper by first stamping the larger bloom from Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums using SU Groovy Guava ink followed by stamping the leaf images from Faux Fun Circles using SU River Rock ink, then finished it off by stamping the smaller bloom from Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums.
Claire has soooo many fabulous labels that can easily "work" with this sketch, it was difficult to choose which one I wanted to showcase! I decided on the gorgeous polka dot label from Very Vintage Labels No. 10. I stamped the image using SU Summer Sun ink then using a Labels 10 die template to cut/emboss the image. Lastly, I stamped the pretty Happy Anniversary sentiment from Say it with Style within the label.
Thanks for stopping by today~hope you like what you see :) Please be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge site for some amazing inspiration from the Mischief Makers and several other Waltzingmouse DT members :) I'll be back tomorrow with an all new CR84FN color challenge. Be Sweet :)

A FEW Color Connections creative tour projects 61

Mona Pendleton | Thursday, May 26, 2011 @ 11:34 PM | , , ,

T.G.I.F.! Hi there! WARNING ~ this post contains A LOT of photos! I FINALLY completed A FEW :) projects as promised from the Color Connections creative tour that I recently attended last weekend hosted by 3 of my favorite papercrafting companies: Pink Paislee, Tattered Angels and Prima.

This was my first time ever attending a "workshop" type event and let me tell you, I was blown away! ALL the instructors were not only friendly but extremely patient and we used nothing but high quality products and plenty of it! I would recommend this event to ANYONE who wants to create, learn and be inspired for days while being accompanied by KIND, TALENTED ladies and using nothing but AWESOME products!

Before I get to the projects, I wanted to share this beautifully decorated table set up inside the room where the creating took place.
mmmmm....... It was not just eye candy but the goodies inside the jars were edible treats in case someone's blood sugar needed a little pick me up! :) LOL
Here we go...First up is a layout sharing a photo of my sweet hubby, Scott and I standing within the walls of the Roman Colosseum:
This layout features various patterned papers, fabric flower, rhinestone chunky bling brad, stamps and pleated trim from the gorgeous Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection, alphabet letters from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree Collection along with a Prima flourish.
Next, is a layout sharing a photo of Scott and I standing near the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy:
This layout features various patterned papers, ephemera, and embellishments from the beautiful Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection, patterned paper, stamps and pleated trim from the gorgeous Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection, a wooden shaped banner from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree Collection, canvas letters from Prima and vibrant Key Lime Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

The nifty "raw" wooden shaped banner was colored using Key Lime Glimmer Mist then stamped using stamps from the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Collection.
I "glittered up"the darling "love" birds die cut from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection ephemera:
Next, is a layout sharing a photo of Scott and I in London with the British Parliament Building in the distant background:
This layout features various patterned papers, ephemera and stamps from the awesome Pink Paislee Daily Junque Collection, a wooden shaped teapot and twine from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree Collection, a Prima pearl embellishment and vibrant Key Lime Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

The darling wooden teapot embellishment shown on the tag below was created by spraying the "raw" wooden teapot with glimmer mist then finishing it off with a layer of glitter:
Last but not least, is a layout sharing a recent photo that you may recognize of my precious step-daughter Meredith celebrating her 14th birthday on May 19th:
This layout features various patterned papers, rhinestone trim, a mini note card, dimensional stickers, flags and rhinestone brad from the fun Pink Paislee Soiree CollectionPrima cloth flowers and various Glimmer Mists and Glam from Tattered Angels.

To create the flower embellishments we started with fab Prima cloth flowers, sprayed them using various Glimmer Mists and Glam from Tattered Angels then after they were dry, layered then attached them together using a beautiful rhinestone brad from the Pink Paislee Soiree Collection.
Please remember these are only A FEW of the projects I created while at the event! I will share more in the near future but I have to bet busy with a few design projects before I head out of town on vacation. I have a boat load of unused product from ALL of these collections and companies, that I am sure I will put to good use for either making more layouts, cards, tags or altered projects!

Thanks so much for looking ~ I hope you enjoyed your visit! I will be back on Saturday for an all new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Be Sweet!

a warm Smile 57

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, May 22, 2011 @ 10:20 PM | , , ,

Hi there! Hope you all had a great weekend! I arrived home yesterday late afternoon from my weekend away papercrafting event. I had such a great time, I can't wait to show you some of the projects we created. I need to print photos to complete a few layouts and a mini book before I share. I've never attended a crop nor a workshop so I was a bit unsure what I had gotten myself into but what an AWESOME surprise!!! I have the day off from work today so I am going to work on a few of those projects so I can share them with you :)

I made this card awhile ago but because of various DT projects and commitments, I hadn't had the chance to share. Sort of my version of a CAS card featuring a sweet sentiment from the JustRite Stampers JB-09905 3 1/4" Smile - Interlocking stamp set.
I combined a few different pieces of patterned papers from the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology  Collection and using a Spellbinders™Big Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite die template to cut borders using patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. I topped it off with a doily and felt flower both made using the following PTI dies: PTI Doily Details Collection and Beautiful Blooms 11.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day! Be Sweet :)

Just A Note...CR84FN29 64

Mona Pendleton | Saturday, May 21, 2011 @ 8:55 PM | , ,

Hi there! I'll be driving home today with my hubby from the weekend trip to California. Thanks so much to all who played along with last week's bold and bright color combo and thanks to all who take the time to leave such kind comments :) So many pretty entries! This week we are playing with pretty shades of Plum. The beautiful color graphic was created using photos courtesy of Martha Stewart.com
I love any shade of purple so my hubby surprised me with some gorgeous Tulips on Mother's Day :)
 Love the various shades:
 So delicate and beautiful:
My sweet sister Tina has been taking care of my little 4 legged furry friends, Gretchen and Griffin while we have been away so I made her this Thank You card. I started with some pretty My Mind's Eye patterned paper that is retired but still can be found at the local craft store :)
I cut a few of the PTI postage die cuts followed with stamping the images. I wanted to tuck a little note inside the mini envelope so I first stamped the Just a Note sentiment, embossed then trimmed to size. Added a pretty lavender Prima flower, some foliage and a sweet tag.
Thanks for visiting today :) Please hop on over to CR84FN for COMPLETE details on how to join in the fun and for some jaw dropping inspiration, please visit all the designers blogs:
